Manicure of the Month: Holiday Rudolph Nails

Hey everybody! I am very excited to share my favorite manicure (so far) for the month.

A la Instagram. If you aren’t following me yet, you definitely should, @soniaisag. You will be bombarded with pictures of my nails, my meals and my nephews.

Back to the mani, I followed a really great video tutorial by MissJenFabulous of Polish and Pearls for this look. She made it seem so effortless that I just had to try it, and I am so glad I did.

Making the reindeer was actually really easy. And this is probably my favorite accent nail ever. I am not posting a tutorial for this manicure since the video I followed is really helpful. I encourage anyone wanting to give this a try to check it out!

This was my secret weapon for Rudolph.

Julep Quick Dry Polish Drops are possibly the best invention ever. The drops smell great and work even better than any quick dry top coat I have tried.

I have a confession…I was working on this manicure right before work to have it finished for the holiday party. I was watching a movie with my little sister and not really paying attention to the time. Needless to say, I had to get ready in a hurry while still watching out for my manicure. I could not find my precious quick dry drops and had to be really cautious. At the last step, as I was reaching for my eyeliner, Rudolph, and only Rudolph, smudged. It was really bad. After a few minutes of my personal pity party, I decided to finish getting ready and leave with an unfinished manicure.

I gave it another try today using the quick dry drops between each layer and it worked like a charm. I owe Mr. Rudolph to this magical elixir and my sisters encouraging words to give it another try.

One final look.

I hope you enjoyed this months manicure. Is anyone thinking of rocking this mani at their next holiday party? If so, please share your pictures! I actually have a few awesome manicures lined up for the rest of the month, do not be surprised if I post another one soon.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I am ready to shop til I drop with my best friend and hit up a few good holiday parties. Gosh I love this time of the year. Talk to y’all soon!

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear

Can anyone guess where that’s from…. If you guessed Elf, you are right! Will Ferrell is a genius in this Christmas comedy that always makes me feel ready to celebrate my favorite holiday.

I began my celebration this weekend with my little sister and my friends in a nearby town’s annual festival, Sights and Sounds. Although it was about 81 degrees on Saturday, we all had a blast eating all the amazing fried food and taking a million pictures. I’d like to share a few of those with y’all, try not to be too jealous of our amazing time 🙂

There was a little nativity scene along with all the props including this beautiful camel. Fun fact: one of my dreams is to ride one in Morocco.

This is what I ate, well one thing I ate. I enjoyed a bacon wrapped chili dog. OH MY GOSH it was delicious.

Here is my little sister with her beautiful funnel cake, it was so yummy. I love carnival/festival food.

Here I am with Rudolph as he was greeting everyone at the entrance. It was pretty hot outside, I can only imagine what it felt like inside that costume. Props to that guy for being so nice posing for a hundred pictures that night.

And finally my favorite picture, probably ever. My friends, my sister and I spelling out YOLO. For those of you who have been living under a rock, YOLO is Drake’s motto for life. It stands for You Only Live Once. Anyhoo, this picture was so much fun and I cannot wait to find a frame for it! It will always remind me of this fun night!

We had a ton of fun and I hope we can continue celebrating the holiday season with all the rest of the upcoming festivals. I have so many projects coming up to share with y’all. I hope you are ready to be bombarded with Christmas preparations here on ballinonabudgetblog! I know I am excited to share my newest projects!

Anyhoo, I hope your week is off to a great start! Talk to y’all soon.
