DIY: Jewelry Stand

A few weeks ago one of my good friends and I decided to mail each other care packages. I have known her for about a decade and she has always been one of the toughest people to shop  for! Which is why most birthday presents lately have been a few shots downtown!

Anyhoo, I definitely wanted to make sure and personalize the gifts as much as possible and finally thought Accessories! When I think of my friend Trippy (to disguise her identity) I  think about accessories, and lots of them. After looking through a million websites and jewelry stores around town I couldn’t find anything that resembled her at all. That’s when I remembered this pin from a few months back. The blog post focuses on cake stands but it can easily be turned into a jewelry stand. I know I have heard of this idea before but cannot remember from where, but it was very simple to make, and I really like how it turned out 🙂 Here are a few shots of the process.

These are the only things you need! I found two plates and a candlestick at Goodwill, already had my E6000, adhesive of choice.

Stick some glue on the candlestick and place it in the middle of the plate.  I threw a few books on top and let it dry for about 10 minutes in between. Once I glued both plates onto the candlestick I let it dry overnight with books laid on top.

This is the finished product with some of my own jewelry on it to showcase it in all its glory and intended purpose 🙂 I really hope my friend doesn’t see this before she sees it in her own house 🙂

I am really happy with the turnout, I hope my friend enjoys it too 🙂 I am thinking of making a few more, maybe experimenting with a few different ideas I have, so let me know if you want one!

My summer has been a slow one. But it has given me a lot of times for crafts, which I love! I hope I can share the other things I have been working on soon! For now I am just ready for the weekend and the impromptu visit from my family!

I will leave you with an adorable picture of me and my care package friend, and my best friend who always jumps into all my pictures 😉

Trippy is the one on my right (your left). I love her dearly and I am so glad she and I decided to send each other care packages! Can’t wait to see what she has sent! If it is appropriate maybe I will share lol

Talk to y’all soon!

  1. aww, such a great post. i love that pic of you guys and i really like what you made. I bet she loves it, if I wore jewelry I would want one 🙂 I’m thinking this would make a great secret santa gift–because it’s not too personal and it’s thrifty!
